Style tips from a 50 yr old Closet Curator & Stylist

With age comes wisdom and acceptance. When I was younger, I struggled with self esteem. My 20s were tough, my 30s better and I finally came into my own in my 40s.

What changed? Finally accepting my body where it is on any given day and focusing on and appreciating what makes me unique.  Life is too short to focus on the negative stuff.

Here are my top tips from what I’ve learned….

Respect and love your body as it is today

How many times have you looked back at pictures of you from a decade ago and thought “I actually looked great... I wish I realized it back then.”  Food for thought.

Stick with brands that work

Finding things that fit is not easy…. it takes time and a lot of patience.  When you find brands that work for you, celebrate it and stick with them.

Invest in quality lux bags and take care of them

You’ll have them forever, they never go out of style and they’ll always elevate a casual outfit.

Wear your favorite things again and again

No one cares if they see you in the same thing. And you’ll feel great knowing you are getting the most of out your cost per wear.

Don’t get caught up in trends

Incorporate them in a minimal way when it works authentically for you.

Embrace flats (even if you’re only 5’2”)

They makes any outfit look like you aren’t trying too hard.

Accessories are the secret to styling

You can wear the simplest outfit and make it yours with personal accessories.

Be open

Try things you think won’t work for you. You might be pleasantly surprised.  :)
